Choir Music

Contee Senior Choir is mostly composed of non-musician members, who volunteered to give their time, vocal talents to praise God, and to edify the attending church congregants. One of my duties was to train each choir member, musician or non-musician, to follow the notes written in the songsheets. It is a lot of fun to observe a group of non-musician learning to identify the music symbols for accurate interpretation.

The agenda for each rehearsal was to see to it that each choir member was acquiring the performance skills prior to presenting the songs during church functions. Eventually, the choir members learned how to depend on each other through listening, note taking, pencil makings on their individual songsheet to  that led to a successful rendition.
